Wellspring Adult Fellowship Group Covenant

“Let us then pursue what makes for peace and mutual edification” Romans 14:19

In order to successfully function as a group, it can be helpful to discuss the expectations of participation right from the beginning. Because each person is unique and brings his or her own personality, talents, and experiences to the group, it’s important for each of us to feel safe to be ourselves within the trusting circle of this small group. To help us achieve this atmosphere of mutual support, encouragement and respect, please prayerfully consider the following expectations:

  • During the course of the group, give attendance at each meeting a high priority in your life. It’s easy to get distracted with other concerns and miss. Do your best to attend all sessions.
  • Sometimes a person will share private or personal information with the group. Please respect the confidence and do not repeat what you have heard to others.
  • Everyone has an opportunity to participate as they feel called to, without pressure to have an answer for every question. Likewise, be careful that no one person always dominates discussion.
  • Treat one another with respect and courtesy. Disagreements may happen, but hurt feelings and bitterness do not have to result. Certainly, Christ calls us to live peaceably with all (see Romans 12:18). All of us lead busy and stressful lives. Be gentle with one another.
  • This small group has the potential to be a loving circle of support. Make a purposeful commitment to those in your group to be a support, an encouragement, and a comfort.
  • Treat the growth of the group as a goal rather than a threat. If we are true to our mission of “empowering more people to experience an abundant life in Christ” then the entrance of a new member to the group is a cause for great joy. Be welcoming to all.
